Policing Models - Reactive, Proactive,and Coactive
1. Re-Active - Officers respond to calls for service after the crime has been committed.
2. Pro-Active - Officers self initiates activity to prevent and detect criminal activity.
3. Co-Active - Officers partner with stakeholders (citizens, business owners. schools, etc.) within their community to reduce criminal activity. Note: It's proactive, but an officer isn't initiating reducing criminal activity alone. Watch video below about development of relationships which is critical to co-active policing.
