MOCK POLICE AGENCY ACTIVITY
Welcome to Police Function course. You will have a role in a mock agency. The goal centers around exposing you to hands on instruction to understand methods used by law enforcement. Participation will be critical for your success. Law enforcement works in a team environment. Ability to work in diverse work environments are part of providing services to communities.

Step 1 - Establishing Your Agency Identity and Culture
1. In this step leaders are identified. Roles are established. Use the following form to help in creating your agency.
Agency Mission Statement- A critical step in developing an organization culture starts with writing out a mission statement which creates organization identity.
What is your mission statement?
1. Each leader must create his or her mission statement.
2. Each team member creates a personal mission statement based on leaders mission statement.

Step 2 - Recruitment Unit - Hiring requirements
Directions: Create selection process for hiring officers for your department. State law requires law enforcement agencies to perform specific hiring practices. We will be using Arizona Peace Officers Standards and Training requirements. When creating agency policy. You are required to use AZPOST standards. Agencies can add additional requirements, but cant reduce requirements set out by law.
